The material is presented more or less in the order that it would be useful during play, but there’s no other organization, so potential DMs should read it all the way through first.

I designed this adventure for a maximum of four players. The pregenerated dragon characters I gave out included the Academic, the Daredevil, the Seer, and the Warrior. I excluded the Crafter and the Nature Adepts since I didn’t think they’d have much to do in this scenario. I leveled up the characters to Winged Drakes to give them a little more breadth of ability, and because I wanted them to be able to fly all the way up to the summits of the Longtail Mountains on their own.

It’s a short adventure. I got through it in two hours pretty consistently. If you have more time, you can certainly let your players linger around some of the setting elements and try to resolve some of the other questions in the adventure outside the main mission. Do Thilda and Chelle ever make it to the capital? Does Krim recover his courage? Does Aeria ever break out of the prison of resentment that her ancestors built for her? Will the PCs ever get any more of that cake?

  1. this looks like a scale-tingling adventure! Very interesting! And let’s hope (if this is continued) that after all this is done Brevit can return to the capitol and spread her cake-wisdom to all of dragon-kind!
