Do people have recommendations for how they choose the names that are listed?  I’m not completely sure how to come up with a name that is Phoenix-y.

  1. Your Phoenix archetype could be from Phoenix.

Serious answer: given the deep commitment the game has to the diversity of big cities, just throw some cool-ass names in there with some nice diversity. Is there a … personality, or whatever, you’re associating with the Phoenix?

  2. I think I mostly just need to compile names from different cultural groups, maybe grab a couple of references (people who propagated the idea of the phoenix include Lucan and Clement, which are both pretty cool names).

The personality and kind of core idea I’m playing with is the Phoenix as someone who protects people around them initially, but in death creates destruction.  The death move of the Phoenix allows them to either come back if they died in the arms of a loved one (causing harm to said love one) OR come back with a new Corruption move (balance pending).  I picture the Phoenix playing as wanting to create caring connections to people, but essentially suffering for others into death and then being given the tools with which to fight back.

That makes it sound a bit more martyr complex than I’m perhaps going for, but that’s kind of the personality I’m playing with.  Caring, dying, and coming back pissed.

  3. Jonathan Baldridge – We’re finalizing things with our new printer. We put a down payment on the print run last week, and we should have all the files submitted on Monday! Soon!

  4. Thank you for the pointers, Alexander and Luke! Phoenix first release remains (was it was weeks ago) ‘probably in the next day or two.’

Heaven help me if I ever try to write something longer than a playbook.
