In a world like Heroes where there are no previous generations of heroes, a brand new superteam is forming of young adults in college at St. Cyprian.

The roster consists of:

Ember the Phoenix, immortal fire-wielder

Marisol, psychic and telekinetic

Crystal, cypher and super athlete

Mac, genius tech inventor

Tariq, master of light

They’re trying to decide on a name for their team. What would you call them?

(feel free to suggest alternates in comments, but I prefer votes, it’s been a long process)

  1. Hmm. An important element here is that they’re the first ones, so there are no predecessors. That’s why names like “The New Guard” or “Next-Gen” don’t seem appropriate; there is no “Old Guard” or “Previous-Gen”.

Actually, mashing those two together might work: “New-Gen”, or if you’re feeling like really pushing the “there are none like us” bit, “The Ascendants”.

  2. Nestor Rodriguez I totally agree. Post Millenials, New Guard and Next-Gen all feel like names that would be appropriate/great if there were previous heroes. That said, I still went with Next-Gen because there could be a evolution of humanity feeling. So…sorry Richard Rogers, I have a suggestion. 😀 The Evolved.

  3. I’m on board with #Vigilant – as Nestor Rodriguez said, there are no super hero predecessors; post/next might make sense if in the fiction they are a leap forward/above traditional non-super authorities.

Crisis Crew has a very cool ring to it, but i think that’s gotta be either villains or antiheroes. They bring the crisis with them!

St. Cyprian Class of ’17 RULZ! Go team, go!
