I have created some Basic NPCs for the setting and where factions are located I have some questions about running a session zero apart from character creation what other stages should I talk about before getting into the game?

  1. I wouldn’t get too deep into game planning pre-character gen. Ask lots of questions, make notes about the answers and then maybe do your session 1 start of session moves. You can base session 1 of them.

  2. it doesn’t hurt. If you are a new GM the storms sections is useful but i would focus on the first 8 sections of the book. Come back to section 9 and 10 post session 1. For sessions 0, familiarity with the Archetypes would be really useful.

  3. So I shouldnt do any world building without my players? What are things the world needs like does the fae need a portal to Acadia and a King or Queen? Do the tained need a overload? Do the wizard council need a headquarters I’m not sure if there are any most haves in the world and if I should create any of them as the MC

  4. the short answer is figure that stuff out as you go. Somethings may be important and others not at all. I think in my current game we figured out that sunlight doesn’t instantly kill vampires in about session 5. Also you don’t need everything mapped out before the game starts. If one of your players wants to know how to get to Acadia i think the best thing you can do is ask them what they think.
