If it doesn’t say explicitly in the playbook, then it is up to your group and specially to the player who picks it up to decide.
The implication of the Ghost’s darkest self is that they are not generally intangible, or at least are always able to interact with the inanimate. The Limitless move suggests that in general walls are barriers to them.
I think they’re normally tangible, for the reasons Jesse outlined. Plus, how else could they have sexy times?
