  1. I have some ideas I’m somewhat fond of 🙂 It’s more the matter of turning them into meaningful encounters at the table that’s the matter for me.

How does one construct a proper Peril? And the secrets to defeating a Titan, how do the characters get that information?

  2. Victor Segell,

I usually break down Peril in:

    a) Reveals, the scenes or hooks that announce the Peril. I recommend you to think of one from a Character perspective, and another from the Family’s. Which one? Don’t go for the Character / Family most apt to deal with this Peril.

    b) Soft and Hard Moves, reactive or timed.

    c) Is it Hostile in some way? If so, how can one overcome it?

    d) Tie it if possible to Role entries, and/or History and Backstory

    elements.

    e) Prompt questions to flesh it out. You want it to be scary, dangerous, powerful – let players tell you HOW. The same goes for victims, lair and hunting grounds, if you wish.

    f) Titans, Behemoths, Kaiju… they are always hard to tackle, right? You are not mistaken! Few very specific Character and Family moves allow you to understand and counter them effectively. But everyone has a trick in their repertoire to save the day, it may just not be available for them right now!

    Does it help?
