Hi everybody!
I really want to run MotW for my group and use it in the long run if it’s a success – but is there anywhere I can find a good adventure/mystery to start with and get a feel for the system?

Maybe you can find useful my mystery set in Morgan City, Louisiana. 😉

Wow looks good – did I mention we almost exclusively play CoC – so I will definitely give this a read-through 🙂 Thanks!
You’re very welcome! 😉
I just started with the two Mysteries in the book – the Mongolian Deathworms and the haunted house. That seemed to work pretty well.
Since other people are doing it, could I toss a Mystery at you as well?
Christopher Stone-Bush Yes by all means – do share 🙂
Here you go Søren Ryborg.

Thanks again – I’m looking very much forward to reading these! 🙂
Sent you a pm with general advice and ideas in Danish.
Tore Vange Thanks for tips Tore, they definitely clear up what I thought about the system, about improvisation and such – and regarding ‘Spot hidden’ – yeah it’s really one thing I’m not gonna miss. ‘Investigate A Mystery’ seems fast and fun IMO. I looked into Esoterrorists and Fear Itself for some of the same reasons. I just can’t seem to wrap my head around the gumshoe system.
It took me a while to understand how Investigate a Mystery is meant to work.
Christopher Stone-Bush what’s your experience?
Well, Monster of the Week isn’t really about having the Hunters figure out a mystery. It’s about presenting them with a monster and then finding out how they deal with it.
At first I felt Investigate a Mystery was giving away too many clues. It felt like the players were cheating. But then I discovered you want the players to figure out what monster it is, what it can do, and what its weakness it. You want to lay all the pieces out and say “What do you do now?”
I totally agree with Christopher Stone-Bush.
Yeah I can see how the very direct approach of ‘Investigate A Mystery’ prevents the GM from keeping many secrets. Still I imagine it keeps the pace up really well – which is what we need when on a break from CoC.
