I’ve asked this else where but I’m having trouble figuring how cred works on the first mission of The Sprawl.

  1. After somebody makes the Get The Job move, everyone in the group decides how much cred they want to stake on the outcome of the mission. They can choose to ante one, two or three cred each. for each player who puts up three cred, the Legwork or Action clock advances, presumably because they’re throwing enough resources around that someone’s going to notice.

As the MC, you add up all the cred your players have wagered. If they do the job right, they get that number x2 at the end of the mission when they make the Get Paid move. If they selected “the job pays well,” that multiplier goes up to x3. You could bump it up even higher if their employers have any special stipulations or are pressed for time.

If they screw it up, they get nothing.

If they don’t select “You are paid in full” when they Get Paid, short them. Apply the multiplier and then knock off a few cred (how much is up to you). Sorting out who doesn’t get the share they were supposed to is their problem.

  2. I answered the post on your wall, Adam Makey, but I’ll repeat that here in case anyone else is wondering.

The full question: “Probably a simple thing I’ve over looked but am having some trouble working out how cred works on the first mission? Do the players gamble cred they don’t have or is there a baseline reward I should be working from for the first time?”

To which my answer was: “Everyone starts with five cred. It’s on the playbacks, but off the top of my head (I’m not looking at the PDF right now) I don’t recall where it is in the rulebook.”
