Hello humans!

A while ago, Jonathan Walton offered to write a playbook supplement for anyone who would give him some AW playbooks he wanted. I traded him the playbooks, so he wrote this! I think it’s awesome! Maybe you will also think so.

A little backstory…

One of the playbooks I traded Jonathan was a playbook supplement I had written (the Devoted) that was based on the second character I had played in Apocalypse World. A Brainer who had fallen in love with the Psychic Maelstrom.

Honestly, I’m not sure if the Maelstrom was intelligent or personified in that game, but it sure was to that guy!

So, when asked for a topic for a new supplement, I turned to the FIRST AW character I played, a Gunlugger who was also involved in an ill considered romance.

So, here’s a supplement about Gunluggers who are falling in love and making bad decisions because of it.

I just dug up an old hack I was working on for playing war stories from the perspective of covert ops agents and resistance members operating in secret behind enemy lines.

I was looking over it and I still like it quite a bit, so I’m thinking I should dust it off and see if I could shape it up a bit.

I bet there’s some stuff I can learn from The Regiment as well, so I’ll probably give that another read soon.

However, I thought I’d share it here first to sew if anyone else thought it was interesting or hand any ideas or criticism that there like to share.

So…

So…

So…

Tell me about your apocalypse!

Mine was an arid wasteland with toxic ground water based on a trip to the Atacama desert. It was nominally somewhere on the west coast of Canada, next to a giant salt flat that was all that remained off the Pacific Ocean.

No one knew what caused all the water to dry up.

There were three “major” settlements: Cactus Town, a farming community based around the production of cactus juice, the only non-poisonous beverage around; Junk Town, a scrap pile full of scavengers, thieves and mechanics; and The Factory, an abandoned refinery stocked with oil and gas, and inhabited by a vicious gang of bikers.

Getting all excited about reading it now! I read a very early draft and liked it, but that was a long time ago. I bet there have been some cool changes since then!
