First session of my new Urban Shadows stream! We only got to introduce the characters and do the session start move, but we’ve certainly got a lot on the plate for next Tuesday!

Anywho, I’ve been trying to come up with some good city moves. So far, I’ve sketched out these two:

* Disgorge a ghost from the terrible past.

* Raise The floodwaters when a Storm hits.

I feel like I need one more, and I don’t know whether or not the two I’ve got actually work. Suggestions?

I got to test run //DATA_BREACH// at PAX South last night.

I got to test run //DATA_BREACH// at PAX South last night. It ran in just under 4 hours with full character creation. I think next time I run it, I’ll trim chargen a bit – I’ll probably skip Links until someone wants to Help/Hinder.

The players went totally ape. Started with the Driver crashing through the front of the restaurant where the meet went down, and then descended further into chaos from there. It ended with the Hacker doing a datasteal while team escaped from the data center after the HVAC shut down and the servers all caught fire. Good times.

Okay, so here’s my first mission for The Sprawl.

Okay, so here’s my first mission for The Sprawl. I’m sure that there is room for improvement. This is for a 4-hour convention slot coming up in mid-February.

Be gentle 😉

I’m working on a mission to run at a buddy’s event in South Dakota.

I’m working on a mission to run at a buddy’s event in South Dakota. The gist is that a corp middle-manager is hiring the team to steal and destroy some video footage from his own employer’s datacenter to prevent his ex-wife from using it against him in a custody hearing.

I’m trying to figure out the best way to bring the ex-wife in as a potential provider of a side-mission. Should I have her contacting the players be an entry on the Legwork countdown, or should I just have her contact a player as an Offer an Opportunity move?

Here’s what I’ve got for the countdown clock cards I was talking abut earlier. Not fancy, but functional.

The plan is for this to be printed on a 3.5″ x 2″ business card. I haven’t decided if I want to just leave the back blank, or have spaces for a list of what happens when the clock hits a particular time.

I’m thinking of designing and printing some business cards that just have a handful of countdown clocks on one side, and a list things that happen based on the clocks on he back. I know I didn’t explain it well. When I get the first draft done I’ll post it.

Anyway, right now I’ve got an AW-style Harm countdown, then a 4, 6, & 8 segment clock for BitD, and a clock from The Sprawl. Are there any others that I should account for, or would that cover most PbtA and adjacent games?
