“On a miss, your question causes trouble.”

My player has a mentor that is somewhere else, so contact will be through a phone, I have no idea how to apply miss condition in an interesting way. Please give me some examples of what would you have done?

Should I work with the player for mentor to be more directly involved or that contact should be more personal or maybe more mystic like though meditation or something?

My Spooky player has chosen his Dark Side to be Depression, Paranoia and Rage. His powers come from Goth and Heavy Metal Prince of Darkness.

Please advice what requests can his Dark Side have of him?

I’m having hard time coming up with requests that are not PvP or that doesn’t makes the investigation more difficult.

Should I request him to just beat up a random NPCs due to Rage or abstain from taking action due to his Depression, this doesn’t sound interesting 🙁

The only good idea I had was to request him to do alternative ending to monster hunt. Instead of players killing the Monster, Dark Side wants Spooky to summon another bigger beast that will capture the Monster for the Dark Side.

That will end the investigation, but I’m not sure if this is not too big deal, I should ask bigger deals as his Luck depletes.

Please advice.

Hey folks, I have a ‘divine’ in my game and they have an attack that attacks the monster’s weakness. Does this allow the party to kill all the monsters without ever learning/discovering the weakness?

HI, I’m starting a new game with some friends and one of them decided they wanted to play the flake so that they could use the contrary ability at every turn to gain xp. I want to let them play what they want without inhibiting them too much, but I’m not sure how deal with this. Does anyone have any ideas?

Hey, Everyone!

Hey, Everyone!

Hey, Everyone!

Have you guys heard The Adventure Zone podcast? There is this one character named Angus McDonald and he is the “Worlds Greatest Detective!”. He is like The Flake, looking for clues and figuring it all out, but he also uses magic a lot (he has a book that lets him listen in on conversations in the vicinity) and The Flake doesn’t have that. I’m wondering if there is any hunter class that is close to that idea. I might need to actually make the class, I just need some ideas for moves. I really don’t know if this goes well with the horror trope of monster of the week, I will have to adjust it if I do make a it horror. Anyway I’m very interested in the idea of a magic detective that can find clues that nobody really has thought of. I also am a big fan of the character, if I do make it. How should I start it off? And do you think this is an interesting concept? Also, if you do support it try to think of any moves that might be interesting of that concept.

Thank you!

Hey everyone

Hey everyone

Hey everyone,

I’ve had this playbook saved to my computer for a while and keep meaning to fine-tune it; it kind of fills the niche of a druid in traditional fantasy games while being more suited to the genre. Haven’t had a chance to see it playtested and I still have a few mixed feelings about some of the features, but here it is for your appraisal: The Earthbound.

(Also, if someone could tell me how to make the comments go away and stay gone that’d be nice ;_; )

Hey there!

Hey there!

Hey there! So, for my monster of the week game i’m running in a little bit I’ve decided to make a new class labeled the mutated.

In which after the effects of radiation, the “hunter”, more survivor in this case, has changed. I’m stumped on personal moves, though? Does anyone have suggestions? I’ve already taken a bit from the monstrous.

For a while I was working on a PbtA/MotW hack meant to channel Twin Peaks with a weird horror vibe, but it turns out hacks are an awful lot of work (especially when you decide to add in an entire additional optional rule set to accommodate playing a more Lovecraftian style game with “mythology” and “sanity” rules). I got about as far as creating my first playbook, The Special Agent, which I’ve since gone back and adapted to MotW. I’d love to hear folks thoughts on it!
