One of the things I’ve wanted to do in the game is run a Torneo Cibernetico, which is essentially a 8 (or more) man elimination tag match, so I’ve been giving a lot of thought to how I would accomplish this. Of course, the tag team rules include pins that result from refusing tags, but I don’t feel that would move the match along quickly enough. I could also adapt some of the moves from the Regal Wrangle to facilitate eliminations.

My question is, what do you guys think is the best way of handling a match such as a Survivor Series or Torneo Cibernetico in WWW? Any suggestions or stories of actual play experience would be a big help!

New to the game and prepping my first session here (4 players + me, all RPG and wrestling fans). I have some questions, mostly regarding NPWs, which is something I can’t seem to wrap my head around.

1: If NPWs don’t make rolls, do they ever botch or are they “perfect” wrestlers? I know Creative ultimately has control but it seems weird to intentionally railroad your own plans.

2: How realistic is it to make up character sheets for each NPW and have them played (by a player who isn’t in the ring, much like the Announcer) as Talent (tracking stats, momentum, etc) for Talent vs. NPW matches? To me this seems like it would make the show feel more “alive” and allow NPWs to develop in terms of who the champ is, or who has heat with who, etc, which gives Talent more options for interaction with the larger world.

3: How does Heat work with NPWs if it’s not tracked? For example if a player is feuding with an NPW, are they at a disadvantage compared to PvP feuds that can hit the “+4 Heat with each other gains 1 Audience” mark at the end of a match?

So, having played a wrestler who is basically there to do run ins and interrupt matches in Lowell’s recent game, I have to say… I don’t like the run in move.

I think for me the problem lies in having to target an (lets call it) “enemy” character. The choices on the move point toward doing a physical run in and lacks choices to “support” another character.

Ultimately, the moves only option of changing the booking of the match is by getting the opponent of the targeted character DQ’ed when you attack them. It does nothing for “distractions” or interfering in the match to the benefit of a character as opposed to being “against” a character.

I got around this somewhat in Gauntlet League Wrestling but using the Anti-Hero move “Rules? What Rules” But really, i find the whole options given by run ins to be uninspired

My group has been playing the hell out of this game, and I decided to create a gimmick for one of our NPWs that is about to become a full-fledged character. I also intended for it to be a gimmick that someone who knows RPGs and the tropes of wrestling could use even if they were totally unfamiliar with in-ring moves. I plan on cleaning this up before officially making it available, but have done my editing based on other player-created Gimmicks I found on here once. Not sure of who that was, so if I stole your formatting, thank you!

I’m pretty sure the influences will be clear, and I’d love any feedback!

May I present: THE STREAK.

Does anyone else houserule that after a +4 heat match, you reset heat with one opponent?

Does anyone else houserule that after a +4 heat match, you reset heat with one opponent? It’s how it works in other PbTA games and gives the virtuous cycle (4 heat>>1 aud), and how it works on air (if two people are going to fight again and grow their audience, there needs to be more promos setting up the rematch.)
