Hello runners !

Hello runners !

Hello runners !

So, I am trying to come up with a new augmentation : pheromones dispenser.

Mechanically, so far, I have come up with : take +1 to seduce someone and take +1 to hit the street with a Contact who has already succumbed to your charms.

And I have to say, I don’t like how I manage it mechanics-wise. It is just no fun.

How would you go about it ?

Hello Mark Diaz Truman  and Andrew Medeiros ,

my group and I encountered a bump in the road last night during our ongoing Urban Shadows campaign.

It is about Cashing in a Debt, and more precisely about what is exactly a moderate favor.

Basically, a PC1 (played by Player 1) was asking another PC2 (played by Player 2) for something really precious to her (a magic artifact she stole with great peril to prevent a disaster). I immediately asked Player 2 : “Do you think this is a moderate favor ?”. The player answered : “No, of course it is not”. I agreed completely. So, we didn’t trigger the move.

During the debriefing, Player 1 maintained that we should have triggered the move, saying it was a moderate favor, for it meant no danger for PC2. As it is said in the rules, he said, the favor should be calculated depending on the capacity of the PC (Asking a violent character to kill a nobody is moderate. Asking a mere mortal to kill a badass werewolf is not). I argued the point that, following only that logic, killing your own parents could be considered a moderate favor (which, to my mind, is of course absolutely absurd).

I argued that he could have tried to trick Player 2’s PC by misleading her into thinking this was not so tall a price to pay.

What do you think ? I could really use your insight on this.

Hello everyone.

Hello everyone.

Hello everyone.

So, two games here.

The first one with Tiburce Guyard ファブリスFabrissou and Eric Massera and myself as the GK.

The second with Tiburce Guyard, Tom Z and Luke Wayland and I as GK.

I have to admit, if I had concerns before, they flew right out the window.

Both game were awesome ! We just finished a second game with the Witch, the Animus and the Virgin. The game ended with the Witch standing alone, her sisters shattered (reading the text together is really neat). The Bride was on the very edge of madness at the end.

A lot of bleed out and some dark dark stuff… It helps to play with people you trust 🙂

I have a few questions though :

• When the Animus takes a Trauma because of her face “The Shield”, can she decide that every sister takes Trauma as well (we ruled that yes, because the sisters were realising that their protector was failing) ?

• About the Witch : why is the face “The Viper” restricted to Servants and can’t apply to horrors as well ?

• Can you voluntarily pass the ring at anytime ?

• Obviously, when you shiver with fear and take one trauma because of it, you don’t have to pass the ring, right ?

Remarks :

• The questions about the keys which were swapped with Agenda/principles/moves are awesome sauce.

• I really hope the GM section of the game brings some real advice on how to run this game.

In the end, we were all impressed by how elegant the game is and how far it led us.

Hello everyone ! Very excited by the game. Once again, Magpie Games delivers.

Yet, I have a question about when you investigate an object. It says ask two questions. Then what ? Since I, as a GK, am not allowed to make a move since A. no dice rolled, B.no lull in the action. Can the player just ask another two questions ?

If not, why ? The only response that makes sense to me is : introduce a threat or make a move when you answer the questions. But would it not be an illegal move ?

Does anyone know if there is a Roll20 custom sheet for Night Witches somewhere on the internet ?

So, third game of the Sprawl.

So, third game of the Sprawl.

So, third game of the Sprawl. I had only two players (two friends who visited me and I hit 10+ when Convincing them to Play a New Game).

Something hit me : the limitation for the Declare a Contact move. I understand why, but I wondered on how to make this coherent with the fiction. One of the player said “Ok, but my character is clearly running the Sprawl for some times now, he is not new in town. He must know someone else.” Basically, he intended to buy some gear for the mission, but he already had declared a contact who could not help him on this one.

I could have answered “Yes, you know lot of people, but no one who could help you for this one”. But it would have  not satisfied us.

So, instead, we agreed on the Act under Pressure move : he spread word on the street that he needed something fast. He got a strong hit, so I let him have another contact and then Hit the street with him.

Watch’all think ?

So, as everyone else here I guess, I am reading the game.

So, as everyone else here I guess, I am reading the game. It is totally AWESOME ! It has been a while since a game had my imagination flared up as much.

I guess there is a typo concerning the Black Ice move ‘Identify an Intruder’. Shouldn’t it be ‘Advance Corporate Clock’ instead of mission ?

Hello everyone.

Hello everyone.

Hello everyone. So, reading the final version (I have played US when it was still in developpement), and I love it so far.

But there is still a playbook I can’t wrap my mind around : The Vamp. To be more specific, I don’t really get what the Web is about, what it may refer to in the fiction.

Could you please help me understand it by showing me how this move would work in Dracula, True Blood etc. ?
