I’m about to try out this custom move and am wondering what people think. If you need context, basically Illyana Rasputin has gone Darkchilde, and the heroes want to talk her down.

Speaking with a demoness is not without its consequences.

When you try to reason with the Darkchilde, describe how Darkchilde make it terrifying, worrying, enraging, or what have you, and then roll +Savior

On a hit, you talk her into transforming into her human self, postponing her battle with Belasco, or something else within reason. Explain how the conversation ultimately went your way.

On a 7-9 remove one from the list of consequences.

On a 10+ remove two

All consequence that have not been removed apply

CONSEQUENCES

– Mark a condition

– Shift your labels (Mundane up, Savior down)

– Make a promise to the Darkchilde that she can extract from you later.

On a miss, suffer the consequences above except for the promise. And choose one of:

– Be unceremoniously expelled from Limbo

– Battle the Darkchilde

Note that anyone who aided in the roll via spending of Team Pool must also face any consequences.

Is there a repository of Custom Moves somewhere?

Is there a repository of Custom Moves somewhere?

Is there a repository of Custom Moves somewhere? Love Letters, unusual situations, etc? Right now I am trying to think of a couple for them to roll at the start of a session for an opening position.

They just chucked fake Kingpin into a rift in spacetime and closed it. Prior to this, they’d pushed windows out into the street 37 stories below and watched Kingpin chuck an invulnerable NPC out a window (again, 37 floors). So the police are on the scene. And probably the press.

And they still need to look for clues in the Kingpin’s office. Oh shoot no time to elaborate. Shoot ideas if you got them!

You’d think this would have come up before now, but it hasn’t! Please excuse

Spent the last few days on a trip with many friends. Ran some Masks.

One of the characters (with a high Savior) used Defend every time someone else was going to take damage. He could move at the speed of light, so as long as he was in the area it was feasible. My question here is: What can you defend against? If I am trading blows as a result of directly engaging a threat can you defend me? If the GM does a Hard move as a result of me failing, can you defend me against that?

I made a love letter for our Legacy (he’s a son of Hephaestus and he’s dating Elsa Bloodstone, of Marvel fame).

What do you think?

When you first decided to join Elsa Bloodstone on one of her monster hunting jaunts, it seemed like a really fun idea. You, her, some monstrous occult weirdness. What could go wrong?

As it turned out, quite a bit: Tell us something about the horrific person, entity, cult, etc you ran afoul of and why it was more difficult to deal with than anticipated. Then roll +Freak. On a miss, take a powerful blow, and none of the below apply. On a hit, you and Elsa both make it back relatively unharmed On a 7-9 pick 2; On a 10+ pick 3

– Your relationship with Elsa is strengthened by the experience

– You learned her little brother Cullen’s dark secret (detail it for us)

– You manage to bring Cullen back too

– Whatever it was you battled won’t easily be able to find you should it venture to the daylight realms.

I want to have that for making Villains in Roll20, because the full sheet is overkill.

How are everyone’s games going??

In my quest to be the most prolific poster here, I ask you:

In my quest to be the most prolific poster here, I ask you:

How much adult interaction goes on in your games, and how does it play out?

I am asking because one of my players is suggesting there needs to be more (I tend to have brief interactions at the beginning of sessions and then the team goes on a mission and then everyone has to go to bed, so unless they were fighting an adult, it’s just that beginning one). And I am unsure how to make that happen.

Scenario: the functional equivalent of the Cuckoos from X-Books is stuck in a gestalt and causing issues.

Scenario: the functional equivalent of the Cuckoos from X-Books is stuck in a gestalt and causing issues. (Ok let’s be honest: they ARE the Cuckoos, but not really since I know nothing about them except that they exist)

Was pondering making a Custom Move to try to pull one out of the gestalt. But I put it off til 6 hours before the game and now am brain fried.

So is this a good idea, and if so, got any suggestions?

thanks!

Satin has “Evade an attack with uncanny grace”. Is this suggesting that Satin can turn a successful directly engage (with a physical attack) into an unsuccessful one, that Satin can make it impossible to even use directly engage on them, or something else?

Blood Opal can Instantly heal a deadly wound. Does that mean she can erase a condition if the narrative reason for the condition is that she has been wounded?

Helldrake can turn into a titanic, nearly invulnerable dragon. Does that transformation make it impossible to physically harm her, so directly engage a foe is useless unless the intent is a non-physical wound?

There are other references to evasion and invulnerability in the deck.

Again, I think I am getting snagged on where the mechanics (marking conditions) meet the narrative, and understanding the intent of these moves will help me with making my own!

In a situation where Character A has Influence over Character B and then gets more Influence, can Player B choose to Reject Player A’s Influence in that moment?

If so, does Player A end up with no Influence over Player B?

Thanks!
