First session advice, anyone? I know the book kinda covers this, but I’m feeling like I don’t have a grasp on how to easily come up with a hazard.

I’ve got three characters – a nature adept, a seer, and an academic. I’ve got a few things marked on the map, and some Fellowship stuff filled out on character sheets.

How do I get from this to creating and introducing a hazard without being all “So Elder Dragon Grendrik the Great needs you to…”?

Anyone done any Roll20 playbook conversions or the like for Epyllion?

Anyone done any Roll20 playbook conversions or the like for Epyllion? I’m likely to be running a game of it soon, and I’m exploring my options in that regard.

So I’m only just now realizing this, but the playbooks are supposed to be folded in half book style, aren’t they?

So I’m only just now realizing this, but the playbooks are supposed to be folded in half book style, aren’t they? So the order of the panels is actually like:

4,1,2,3?

This explains a lot in my head, because I’m looking over the new playbooks and going “Why in the heck is the first thing on the ‘character sheet’ the Moment of Truth?”

Any chance of someone putting together a “digital friendly” version of this with the panels in a good old-fashioned 1,2,3,4 order for folks who aren’t going to print-and-fold?

Edit: Oh, and The Innocent has, under abilities ” ou and your future self…” etc. Might be a nice fix at some point.

So, I got a chance to play the Drake Edition courtesy of Emily Care Boss a few weeks ago, and had an awesome time.  So I wandered over to look at what changes the playbook I used (Daredevil) had for the final version.  And while I like most of them, the ‘animal companion’ as signature move felt kinda weird and jarring and not very Daredevil-y (I literally went and checked to make sure it wasn’t some sort of error where another playbook’s move had been duplicated).  I don’t know how much this stuff is still in flux, but this one feels weird and off to me.  I’d expect the daredevil to have, I dunno, awesome flying maneuvers or something as a signature move.

When you get up again, even when no one thought you could, roll +Courage.  On 10+ Choose three, on 7-9 Choose two, on a miss, choose two but you have aggravated your injuries – at the end of the scene you take one more wound, and any you shrugged off reopen.  If you do not fly through the valley of death today, gain a scar anyway.

— You shrug off a wound (May be chosen more than once)

— You take +1 Ongoing while you act in defiance of the Darkness

— You inspire an ally – they +1 Ongoing on a number of actions equal to the number of your gems they hold (May be chosen more than once)

When you give voice to the hope in your heart, roll +Charm.

On 10+, all who hear you take your words to heart, and are emboldened, receiving +1 Ongoing while acting on your words

On 7-9, only the listener from whom you hold the most gems receives the bonus (Your choice if there is a tie)

On a miss, your audience remains filled with doubt any listeners may return one gem to you to receive +1 Forward while acting on your words.

So; How do people START their games of Sagas? This is clearly of the “don’t plan too much as the GM” school of gaming, but how much is “not too much” and what SHOULD I know? What should I try to work out with the players?  Any tips?
