The Angel in my game allways failes his Healing-Hands Move. It sucks to be him. It sucks even more to be the patient.

It’s rough if you have low weird. Maybe try to get the patient or someone else to help somehow? Or even read the situation if it’s fairly tense? (“What should I be on the lookout for?” is a good one.)
Yeah, she does that. Doesn’t help. She started with -1 weird and Touch of death. It probably won’t go all the way to +3 in the next session but it is +1 in session 4.
Thinks that happened:
– The spirit/soul of a girl she tried to save went into her head
– The spirit took control and used the angels body to punch the guy to death that gave her the wound in the first place
– She tried to heal the brainer… Oh man.
They went into a strange sex like soul union. This gave the brainer his first time with anyone. As he realised how good it felt the maelstrom reminded him that he could have had all this with Rose but that he allways refused. Now Rose is dead and Balls, the guy responsible for her death is still running loose. That drove poor Smith into a Rage, he is now determined to compeltly destroy Balls Soul.
The Angel got the opportunity to take some of the Brainers harm into herself (tell her the consequences and ask) and healed him back to 6.
– Then she killed BP while trying to fix his (brain wave projector) headache. She starred into Smiths hatefull eyes and felt how BP died under her hands.
The next time she fails it probarbly will go into her mind and exchange one of her family members for the now dead/totally damaged guy. Hey, X is your brother you know…
Well, you start with -1 weird and Touched By Death, you’re saying “Hey, I want people to die in my care.” So… sounds like a feature, not a bug?
yeah sure, that’s why i still think it’s one of the strongest moves in the game. Still, there wasn’t that much people in her care. Mostly my failure but well. We will see what happenes next session. Definetly something i need to give her more possibility to do her stuff.
But also angel healing is not so cool mechanicly. There is angel kit that only kicks in if an NPC is close to death, there is a little chillstabing and care if they are lesserly wounded and there is healing touch. An Angel without an infirmary is not so cool i think from a mechanics standpoint…
Better than not having an Angel. But, yeah, you’re not exactly a D&D cleric or anything.
Our entire AW game was pretty much fueled by the Angel missing on the healing move. It actually drove the development of the central external threat throughout the whole 9-month series (we called them “cryptozombies”, basically re-animated corpses that were all linked to each other and the Angel through the psychic maelstrom)
It was cool!
