Hey folks!

Hey folks!

Hey folks!

Before it goes dark, here, I want to invite folks to a new Discord server for WTP that Jacob Hilker was nice enough to create for us.

In that space, you can discuss WTP games, chat directly with folks involved in making and playing them, and discuss other relevant, gaming-related things. The space is new so we’re still trying it out, so feel free to give us any advice you have for it, as well.

Here’s the link:

Hope to see you there, friends!

Hey folks! With the G+ end quickly approaching, let me fill you in!

Hey folks! With the G+ end quickly approaching, let me fill you in!

1) I will try to post in the WTP Facebook page a bit more. Please come join us over there, if you have an account: https://www.facebook.com/Wheel-Tree-Press-255984057915733/

2) I just plain am not that into Twitter, so I probably won’t be posting TOO much over there on the WTP account. Having said that, I’ll do my best to post important news and updates there: https://twitter.com/WheelTreePress

3) I kinda want to start up a WTP Discord. I might poll folks on the FB group on this.

Please follow us on those other platforms if you’d like to keep up on us!

I’ll miss being able to communicate with people here. Thanks for being cool and following us, here.

Hi there, folks.

Hi there, folks.

Hi there, folks.

So with G+ ending, where would you like to see WTP community, updates, etc? Twitter? Facebook? Something else? I’d do a poll, but I don’t want to do a forced choice.

We could certainly post more in Facebook and on Twitter. We could start a slack or discord group, etc. Let us know how you want to hear from us!

I’m looking for input from the community about custom moves (I love custom moves in AW).

In my game the PCs are going out to hunt down a monster.

I like to put the decision in the player’s hands:

When hunting a monster, roll+Sly. On a 10+ choose 2. On a 7-9 choose 1.

-they don’t get the drop on you

-you take less harm

-you take control of the situation

On a miss, you are infected by parasitic worms.

Or:

When hunting a monster, roll+Sly. On a 10+ you find them before they find you. On a 7-9 MC chooses 1.

-they come out of nowhere. Take -1 forward

-there are more of them than you thought

-they carry off or kill an NPC companion

Share your thoughts and custom moves.

Hey friends of the Wheel Tree!

Hey friends of the Wheel Tree!

Hey friends of the Wheel Tree!

I have put together a short, quickstart playtest document for my climate-change game Under the Glare of a Vengeful Sky.

It’s a game about people in a near future where society is slowly disintegrating due to climate change making their way from their flooding city to a settlement on higher ground they’ve heard is safer.

If you’re interested in taking a look at some abbreviated rules for the game, or doing a quick one-shot playtest of some rules, either post affirmatively here, or drop me a hangout message.

Thanks!

Have you all ever thought of offering solo style gameplay for SCUP?

Have you all ever thought of offering solo style gameplay for SCUP? I know another PbtA style game, Ironsworn, has a solo mode built into it. If you did do it, how would you go about setting it up?

I ran 3(!) games of SCUP that all managed to go pretty well, including for a number of people who hadn’t played/heard of the game.

I playtested two new games:

1) A tabletop game called Under the Glare of a Vengeful Sun, about a group of people escaping a city flooding due to climate change.

2) A LARP called Gone, about someone cleaning out the belongings of someone who has passed away or left.

Both playtests went pretty well, especially the one for Gone, and I got some useful feedback.

All in all, not too shabby.
