An update to my collection of DC villains written up for Words In Peril. Working my way through both the major and obscure characters. I’m including different incarnations to keep my options open. You’ll find the Brotherhood of Evil, the Flash’s Rogues and the Fearsome Five (all 6 of them) amongst others.

Here is a major player in my New Avalon Setting, the Big Boss of the Underbosses, Diablo Da Vinci. The Underbosses are a collection of freaks and monsters gathered together to carve out their own piece of New Avalon.

Diablo Da Vinci (The Underbosses)- The leader of the Underbosses, Diablo Da Vinci claims to be a descendant of both the great inventor Leonardo and the Devil himself. While his demonic appearance lends weight to the latter claim, his weird weaponry make a case for the former. Like his darker ancestor, Diablo has a habit of making deals.

Motive: Diablo Da Vinci wants the entire city to be part of his Grand Machine, every man, woman and child a cog turning for his benefit.

Appearance: Diablo Da Vinci looks like a demonic steampunk nightmare. He has long curved horns coming out of his forehead, eyes like a snake, pointed teeth, and a forked tongue. His skin is a dark crimson and he is a head taller than an average man. He wears leather goggles and a leather overcoat that conceals bizarre weaponry and fiendish inventions. Strapped to his back are leather and wood demon wings that fold out to allow him to fly.

Threshold: 3x number of heroes

Power source: Demonic heritage, Steampunk tech

Demonic Heritage-

Resilient

Above Average Strength

Claws

Fangs

Immune to fire

The Grand Machine-

Diablo often makes deals with desperate citizens, where he grants wish in exchange for them doing a favor for him. These ordinary people doing seemingly innocent and random things  can cause a chain of events that suddenly gives him an edge.

Steampunk weaponry-
