MC-ed a session of Urban Shadows last night set during 1863 in Edinburgh, Scotland. Had an Aware, an Expert (Chemist), and a Changeling. All in all I have to say the system worked flawlessly in this time period and setting. The group hunted down a pair of murderers who appeared to be possessed by a spirit, encountered a giant creature of some sort who threw them around before fleeing into the underground vaults below Edinburgh and one of them even met Dr Joseph Bell and his scribe assistant Arthur Conan Doyle. 🙂 Really fun session with some great players!

Was there an array of wonderful accents?
Please tell me there were accents! Otherwise I’ll never forgive myself for not having been there.
Oh heck yeah there were! We had an Irishman, an Indian, and a stuttering englishmen. While I got to MC a wide array of (dreadful) Scottish accents. 🙂
Inspired by this, could see myself using Urban Shadows to run a Soloman Kane-esque game set in 17th century England.
Ooooh that would be kick ass! If you do try it, and you need any alterations just let me know, k? I’d love to see how it handles the era.
Andrew Medeiros More of a wish-washy aspiration than a firm intention, I’m afraid, but if it ever happens I’ll certainly let you know how it ran…
Why are there so many games I want to run?!
Aaron Friesen So many games… and so little time? 🙁
Basically. My first world problems are the worst problems.
Yeah I hear that.
