  1. Okay. I just woke up and I am just now reading the Space Marine Mammal playbook, and… it seems incomplete.

The first I noticed was that the back of the sheet lists “Charge up, Smash obstacles, Cover ground, Open Fire, Button up” as moves, but doesn’t explain what those moves are and doesn’t give a corollary anywhere.

Vincent Baker why did Morgan share this if this isn’t the “complete and correct version”?

Alex Trépanier Yanni Cooper if a playbook exists, it’s posted here: http://nerdwerds.blogspot.com/2012/12/all-of-playbooks.html

  2. I can be patient. I have another question though, if you’ll indulge me. The playbook lists a couple of improvements as “+1 hot (max +3), +1 weird (max +3)” yet all stat configurations start the SMM with Hot-2 and Weird-2. The way we’ve been playing you can only take a stat increase once, then you have to move on to other improvements. Are stat increases meant to be improvements that can be taken multiple times?

But if this is a typo, then it doesn’t change that assumption of how improvements work.

  3. It’s not a typo, it’s a standard phrasing.

You can take an improvement only once, correct, but that’s not the only way to improve a stat. You can improve a stat using moves from other playbooks, or even conceivably an angel’s infirmary. Nevertheless, for a Space Marine Mammal to approach hot+3 or weird+3 would be very surprising.

The fact that you’ll probably never get anywhere near the maximum doesn’t change the fact that the maximum is +3.

  4. Like what if the Space Marine Mammal takes the angel move touched by death? Then the max weird+3 makes sense. There doesn’t happen to be a similar hot move, but there could be, in principle.

  5. Yes, that’s immediately what I thought of. I wonder how a hot version would work… “every time you are offered no strings attached sex and reject it, get +1 hot.” … sounds like a move for the Skinner.

  6. Patrick Henry Downs The website doesn’t have the AW ones online though.

Yanni Cooper I’ll send the solace over your way, you send me the Space Marine, sounds good?

  7. Alex Trépanier The official ones you get from Vincent, i.e. the unstore. I don’t post those up to the site because only people who didn’t actually buy the game don’t have access to them, if you bought the game then you shouldn’t have any problems logging in to the unstore and seeing the links for them.

  8. Morgan just emailed out new versions of the playbook, but it still references moves on the back that don’t seem to have a corollary.

Vincent Baker can you explain what those moves “In baseline, Charge up, At charge 12:00, Hard shutdown, Cover ground, Force an entrance, At ammo 12:00” are supposed to signify? Or mean?

unless this still isn’t the final version, in which case somebody needs to slap Morgan

  9. For future reference: I offer drawings of various animals (the trader’s choice) piloting mechs in exchange for the SMM. That’s all I got, unless someone wants me to trade them LE playbooks I guess?

Look, I’m willing to make this fun, I’m offering to draw Battletech Bears for crying out loud.
