I have taken my zombie apocalypse hack World Gone Mad (formerly Zombie World) out of public distribution because I now have a regular group Alpha testing it. If anyone wants access to it for their own playtesting, just let me know!

  1. I will! A couple months ago I was trying to make a zombie apocalypse game (I’ve also run a few tests) but I was floating on a few concepts rather than on something concrete, I was mostly focusing my attention on the interactions between survivors and how the new world change them. Also, as I joined the community Tommy Rayburn  pointed me to your hack. Anyway, I read your draft and I liked it a lot so I think it’s enough to be courious about it and wish you good luck! (oh my god, I’m so rambling sometimes…)

  2. Ed Gibbs, were you able to come up with your own kind of fear/insanity system? That was always the one thing i felt your hack needed and I know you too wanted it.

  3. Lenny Pacelli I know that was what Ed Gibbs wanted to do, but like a lot of us that missed the kickstarter, we are waiting for news when it will come out.

  4. Lenny Pacelli I haven’t done much work on fear/sanity yet since my campaign is steering more towards action than horror. My workaround for now is that a few of the playbooks, such as the Innocent, have “character moves” that reward the player with XP for doing something detrimental because of panic or fear.

  5. Lenny Pacelli When was the last time you looked at my draft? I’ve added a LOT of stuff…expanded to 11 playbooks, made custom moves for using different firearms, changed to a “Tri-Stat” system (Body, Mind, and Spirit), amongst other things. I’ll send you a link to the current draft!

  6. Tommy Rayburn Yes they are. This game was originally supposed to be survival horror but the recent direction has changed the tone. I will definitely be re-thinking fear and sanity moves in the coming weeks!

  7. Ed Gibbs I’d guess the last time I saw your draft was just a few days before you changed to “tri-stat” system.

The interesting thing is that while I was working on my zombie-game I have read about various gamzes zombie-themed, but each one of them developed in different directions from the others. That’s cool!

It is a way of saying tha even if we all know the story, everyone can tell it in it’s own way focusing on what interested him.
