…but if there is no higher level of oppressive governing social standards to weight down your efforts; anything worth living in, is worth make living in comfortably.
Imagine a nearly limitless availability of repair parts, refit upgrades, and all the time in the world to spend on that fixer-upper… and imagine this is effectively free for the taking, in a world where no official permission is needed to measure twice and build it once.
Shanty-towns wouldn’t all be squalor and disrepair.
