Tried to post this over at the forums and saw the second question I had to answer to post a new topic and thought fuck this. If there’s supposed to be such threshold to posting on that forum maybe we’re too insular as critics of indie games say we are.

Anyway. Saga of the Icelanders is just up my alley, especially as I’m Norwegian and the Icelanders are my distant relatives.

A playbook that seems natural in that setting is the Lawspeaker. In 930 when Iceland established its Althing and thus declared independence from Norway, the lawspeaker (lógmaðr or lógsógumaðr) would recite the law at the beginning of the thing. (Tha same system of lawspeakers were applied within the rest of the scandinavian countries and Denmark). In Iceland the lawspeaker had also a presidential role. So I think it would be a natural playbook for saga of the Icelanders.
