Had a greatly-successful session last night, though I very quickly decided that 3-armor was a very bad idea to throw against starting characters. Even with a dragon. (I should really have noticed that most attacks don’t do that much damage.) I told everyone that I was going to knock it down to 2-armor, especially because the night was growing late.

Next session? I think I have my idea. Two words: scarab zombies. Oh yeah. Now to write them up.

(Also, I absolutely love the Expert’s “Dark Past” move, as a Keeper. The hunters were piecing together who was responsible for a burglary of a Manhattan townhouse. Guess who gave the dragon the idea to raid the townhouse, some time back?)

  1. It didn’t seem so bad on paper. Then I realized that the only things that could hurt the dragon were the Professional’s sniper rifle and Use Magic. Both dealt 1 damage. Oops.

(Granted, I’ll probably throw a high-armor monster at them later…once they’ve learned improvisational techniques like blowing up a building to drop it on the monster. 😉 )

  2. Dark Past is a truly awesome ability.  I loved how my character was always responsible (in some way) for all the bad stuff that was going on.  Demon running around?  He set it free a while ago to kill something else.  Interdimensional portal with an invasion?  ex-girlfriend.

  3. I feel like I’m gonna get a lot of mileage out of it. The Expert also provided a potential future front: the sect that gave her training. Their leader was in New York and fished her out of the harbor.
