I don’t know if anyone else does something like this in their games, but we ended a session last night with something which seemed really cool and worth sharing.
The session ended up with my Ghost character running from school as the headmaster held an assembly to remember the kid who died a year before (i.e. my character); I suggested a quick “Next Time” scene, a glimpse at what would happen in the next “episode”. The MC liked the idea so we built a little montage of short scenes, no more really than glimpses, flash forwards, of events that could conceivably happen in the next episode: my Ghost, at the side of his own grave, the Infernal, in his Darkest Self, holding a bone dagger behind his back as he approached someone, the Werewolf snarling and lashing at someone off-screen, and the Gorgon confronted by the bully she’d previously attacked, now part paralysised and in a wheel chair, with the rest of her gang.
We’ve no idea how many of these scenes will make the “final cut”, but on top of what was an otherwise incredible (and disturbing) session we’ve all got something a little more to look forward to for the next session.
It’s actually something which Prime Time Adventures has built into the system.
Ah! Nice!
My first MC did this for a one shot so I normally do it after a one shot game as well. Never actually done it in a campaign though.
