Quick and dirty Trail of Cthulhu -> AW hack: if you have the skill, you can do it; if you do it under difficult circumstances, you roll; and you can spend to add to your roll.

I thought I was going to run a straight ToC game, but I’m not really liking the rules and keep feeling myself pulled back to the sweet sweet curve of 6-/7-9/10+. Our first session is in two days, and I’d like to do something that will allow me to use most of the ToC stuff as-is.

On top Of that, I decided to run the Spawn of Azathoth campaign, so it’s really CoC -> ToC -> *W.

Any suggestions from those more experienced would be greatly appreciated!

  1. Ooo… thank, you Jason Morningstar! That just might do it.

Also, yesterday I noticed your name in the playtest credits for Spawn of Azathoth! What were you, fifteen? Or do you just pop up in the background throughout RPG history as the emissary of some dark conspiracy?

  2. All the moves in tremulus are just AW re skins anyways, and the lore moves are vapid. We played a whole arc with Tremulus, and despite the play books being somewhat evocative, we’d rather just choose an archetype from ToC or CoC and go with CDark, or even FAE.

I’d stick with your original concept though, sounds cool!
