Kyle Simons as someone who works on versioning control …. you may want to delay these. You have 4 releases in like 3 days. I would instead create a release schedule. Twice a week on day X and Day Y,or once a week on Day X.
Because right now, I have less and less desire to read each one as I read the one yesterday and I know I am missing something.
It will also be able to bring up the hype or the release as if you were just releasing 0.2 now, think of all of the items that would be on your change list.
Hey Tommy, I thought the changelog would help with that. Everything else is exactly the same. I don’t think there’s a real reason to read each version if you don’t want to. Especially with just minor tweaks being made as I get feedback. I don’t have a schedule or something, I’ve just been tweaking as I get feedback. And I’ll be rewriting the entire thing once I get the dev edits back, so if you don’t see something you care about in the changelog, there’s no real reason to read the new version. This is just for people who want to play right away and character generation is a biggie, so want to address some of the questions I’ve seen a few times (about playing heroes that use tech or things not based on inherent super powers).
If it helps, I don’t think there are going to be any changes from here on out until dev edits and I rewrite everything. So have no fear of a new version popping up everyday!
Gotcha …… Don’t get me wrong ….. I like seeing you guys are vast at work, shows you have really been listening to the feedback. I am just getting lost on which ones I have or have not read,
Totally understandable, I could see it being a bit exasperating despite the changelog. I’ll keep a list on any feedback but I don’t think there’s anything really pressing after these changes so I’ll most likely address them with the rewrite. So keep any and all feedback coming!
I would say every week or every other week. Gives us more of a chance to check out the changes. And please add the changelog to the document.
Sounds good guys! Like I said though, there won’t be anymore new documents going up until I get back dev edits and I do the rewrite. Thanks for your patience.
Hi Kyle, sure youve spotted it but the “Im a Freak” doesnt have any suggested foes. Thought Id mention it
Yikes, I’ll have to put that back in. I must have accidentally deleted it or something. Thanks!
In Aid and Interfere what does it mean “they” in “They take a +1 or -2 forward, your choice.” (NPC don’t roll, do they?)
In any case I would reword it like “Choose whether they take a +1 or a -2 forward” as the sentence starts with “you:” (otherwise sounds a bit awkward).
“They” is whoever you’re aiding or interfering with – NPCs don’t roll, no. Normally the move would be made with a PC in mind but if not, the fact that you’re aiding or interfering with them would be taken into account. I noticed I misspelled aid as well (aide). So I guess there’s a bunch to correct there! Still two phases of editing to go through though 😉
I’m happy with frequent and fast iteration, especially with change logs. It allows for more transparent development and open discussion. The game really feels like a living, evolving document.
Is the draft posted on the Kickstarter update changed to the latest version, or is this to place to look for the newest build?
I update the kickstarter link too with the latest draft, but thought it’d be cool to show the previous versions so people can check it out as it evolves should they so choose!
Kyle Simons so this is the latest?
Yep, this is the latest!
