EiC vs. EC
People have a hard time with mixed-case words. In Apocalypse World, we have a Master of Ceremonies that is abbreviated MC and not MoC. We could just abbreviate Editor-in-Chief with EC. That would be much easier to read.

Thanks for the feedback Jeremy DM Baldwin. Yeah that may be a bit easier. It is something we will definitely think about when putting the final product together.
How about simply Editor? I think one-word titles for the person running the game are best.
Hollis McCray, cool idea but we are pretty sold on Editor-in-Chief though. But if you wanted you could call it Editor with your group it is cool. Have you had a chance to do any playtesting? Really like the character you made it was really awesome!
Not yet. My Numenera game is going on hiatus, though, so I’m going to see if I can talk my players into a one-shot.
Awesome! Suppose it is not the place but I would like to hear your thoughts on Numenera sometime. It is a game I have been on the fence about. Seems really cool though.
EiC is actually what Marvel calls their Editor in Chief. That’s where we snagged the idea. The thought behind it being that players should view themselves almost as writers, having influence on the world and being able to take part in sculpting the story not just reacting to events and being swept along in the narrative. The EiC takes everyone’s input into consideration and keeps the story moving but the story is told together, much like the EiC of a company like Marvel does. Though hopeful your EiC never One More Day’s you.
Yeah, I think it’s cool, it’s just a clunky term in the text. Always strive for clarity in the rules.
“Dungeon Master” worked for a lotta years. I’ll bet “Editor-in-Chief” will do OK with the right abbreviation.
