So, I’ve played the game for the first time…and If I had a top rpg list this would be in my top five!

So, I’ve played the game for the first time…and If I had a top rpg list this would be in my top five! (But I don’t like that kind of list).

About the game:

It was just three of us (all familiar with Aw): me as creative (I don’t watch wrestling since late 80’s), and other two friends (one of them surprised me because I didn’t know he was a real wrestling nerd!).

The talents:

Omega (hardcore), face paint, hooded shirt, loud music (can’t remember the song).

Thunder (technician), jeans outfit, thunderstruck by ac/dc as intro music, before the finishing moves he takes two

Drum sticks and mime a drum solo.

-We booked an event called “the Rodeo”.

-a few hilarious ommercials and promos.

-tv interview with the audience asking questions from home.

-a real messy match start by one of the talent (the HC), with tables, ladder, fire….

Some NTC

Magnificent Pit sends kisses to the audience during his entrance and sprays perfume on his opponents before finishing him.

black sheep he has a herd of…sheeps, and wears a furry hood.

professor rock rival of the Thunder (a talent).

Swamp Thing wears something like the camouflage stuff that usually army snipers wears in the woods.

sweet 54 some disco music dance.

The thing that I loved is that my friends

Really got into the spirit and the concept of the game, we really had a lot of fun (“when do we play again?!?” They keep asking).

It was good to have someone very familiar with wrestling, and the other guy found very useful the wrestling moves sheet.

Personally I completely delved into the creative role, and I had no problem coming up with stuff because the “how to be crative” and the manual in general it is very helpful and tells you everything you need in order to run the game.

I had a few doubts sometimes, like a guy that had way too much momentum (about 10?!?), but It was something I tweaked with the second episode.

And now I have a few question (just to be sure):

1) you don’t reset heat or audience when you get to 4+, right?

2) I had some question about injury, but I saw another post about it, so I’ll wait…

3) in the manual says that there’s a sheet with a list of names, but I couldn’t find it.

  1. Sounds awesome! I like the “questions from the audience” idea for a segment, that’s great!

It is certainly possible to build up a ton of Momentum if your dice are hot and you don’t want to spend it on anything. Remember it all goes away at the end of the Episode. Also, when I see Momentum start to really build, I’ll start pointing the player towards the Babyface/Heel move, which is a good way to burn it off on doing stuff.

    Your questions!

    1) Correct, they do not reset at 4. You reset Audience when the whole promotion’s worth of Audience hits that (# of players * 3) metric, then every Talent’s Audience resets to their “start and reset Audience to” number. Resetting Heat is actually not in the rules you have! But when you finish a feud with someone, you both reset your Heat with each other to +1.

    2) Yup, new Gimmicks each have an individual Injury move.

    3) I know, right! I forgot to put it up. I have one that will go up with the revised files, later this week. Some of the patron’s names across the top of the pages have “wrestling names” in them, if you need to grab something quick!
