Going to try and run a one shot this Friday. I have an idea of what I’m gonna do. I wanna know what you guys think would be a good city or place to run it in.
I know it’s really hard to play one shots using Powered by the Apocalypse but I wanted to see how it would turned out. Granted I’ve never GM’ed this game before. I’m really excited to try it out.
Thanks for your input
“Your hometown” is always a strong choice for situations like that. People are intimately familiar with landmarks, NPCs, etc.
Good idea! Thanks!
Another question; what about factions? Do you think what type of enemy they have determines the predominant faction or not?
When I run *World games I usually start asking questions as the players are making their characters. “Who taught you?” “Who turned you into a vampire?” etc. Then I run with some ideas I get from that. Allies get in trouble, enemies show up, all that sort of thing.
I sometimes try to start with an action scene and get whoever is involved to start answering questions. “Who’s mad enough at you to send a couple of hired goons after you? Do they want you dead, or just bleeding?”
Hmm… I might try that on this one. Thanks a lot!
Another good thing is to identify one quick Front, like a Demon or an elder Vampire, to have an immediate plan to kill/capture one of the PCs. That gets people focused real quick…
Alright, thanks all for your input. Will let you know how it goes!
