I’ve decided since chargen, because I’m fitting in scenes here and there throughout the day, so rather than calling a session ‘fixed’, i’m going with 5-10 moves or whatever feels right before awarding experience.
Can you go into more detail or point me at a resource about using Tarot to ghost GM a game? The mechanics aren’t soaking in:)
I am recently getting back into gaming and having a hard time trying to knock my friends off the Pathfinder teat. Would be a great mechanic to use so my wife and I can both learn and play AW/DW ect. Thanks.
Sure Dani Cox.
The playtest suggests MC-ful play, but in order for me to not simply choose my MC responses, I have been using the Wildwood and Arthurian themed decks to provide direction.
I could have easily just made a random table or used Rory’s Story Cubes, or the Mythic Emulator. I REALLY like the art on these cards though and they inspire (and surprise) me quite often when I ask a question. Basically they are the means to introduce AW stakes into play. I roleplay my character (at this stage its only been Veikko) in the way I think he is developing and follow the NPCs instincts.
The ‘meanings’ of the cards from their respective guides (its included in the app), gives a few sentences that just seem to focus the scene and gel the appropriate response in my mind. I ask a question of the situation/NPC/setting and draw a card… I read the meaning and go with whatever fiction pops into my mind. This usually suggests a new complication and the snowball continues.
In terms of games, Everway’s GM advice was gold in using the game’s tarot-like deck for providing direction in low prep games.
Wha! That’s cool!
I can’t help it… its so addictive 🙂

Does that help?
