Ok, another WW2 genre that Night Witches might provide the basis for: PT Boats in the Pacific or RN Coastal Forces in the Channel, possibly moving on to the Mediterranean.
Skill, Luck, Guts; and a mission/ duty station structure.

Ive been wondering about running a ww2 rpg based on a soviet infantry company.
Starts as a gritty personal survival rpg and as pc’s level becomes more about unit management. (For those interested im thinking of starting with mundane godlike system, moving to asl and then ending with something abstract like gmt’s fields of fire.)
Night witches seems right on the spot for me.
The Regiment has that stuff dialed, guys. Go look at The Regiment.
It’s getting an overhaul next year, but you can get the previous version of the Regiment here:

(And a slight update, Colonial Marines style, here: http://mightyatom.blogspot.com/2013/01/the-regiment-colonial-marines.html)
I’ve played a mini campaign of the regiment lately and it is an exciting game.
You should give it a try, guys.
