ORIGIN BOOK: The Accident
While working on a machine designed to witness the Big Bang, Reaumur had his conciseness projected in every point of universe at once. This cause an antique force (think Parallax) to temporarily take control of his body turning him into a villain.
Though he is now free of the alien presence he lives in the constant fear of what it might have done to his mind as well as to his body.
Looking for Answers
When you look for answers to the questions you have about the experiment by opening your mind to another in order to learn more about what happened that day or your feelings about it, ask a question about that day and roll+Investigate.
On a 10+, choose two and the EiC will answer your question.
– The information is clear and detailed
– You take +1 forward to acting on the information
– The connection renews you, remove a Condition
On a 7-9, the EiC will answer your question but the information may be confusing, alarming or suggest a hard choice.
Suggested Foe: The Mastermind
Tyler Hechard, Reaumur friend and colleague sold his auctions in the society the day before the accident and disappeared soon after. Besides it was Tyler who was meant to work on the machine the day it all happened.
DRIVE BOOK: Redeem Myself
Book available to open when: Your actions, or an outside force destroys a Bond you hold dear and you blame yourself for it. What happened to your reputation? What do people think of you and what do you think of yourself? If you do not have a negative Bond associated with your reputation, be sure to write one in to have it represented on your sheet.
A New Light:
When you prove yourself to someone who had doubts and thought poorly of you, or to a teammate you have a Bond score of 1 or less in, roll+Bond.
On a 10+, strengthen your Bond with them by 2 and recover from an additional Condition when you
make the Fit In move.
On a 7-9, strengthen your Bond with them by 1.
Move available to open when: Your desire to prove yourself results in you taking a Critical Condition.
Against the Current:
When you contradict the popular opinion with strong words and actions, say how you try to change that opinion and roll+Influence.
On a 10+, you win the majority who hear your words over and may raise a Bond score by 1, or write in a new one—the EIC will tell you which.
On a 7-9, you change the opinion of a few, but doing so puts you in harm’s way.
Move available to open when: You stumble, hesitate or flinch in the face of hatred or fierce opposition to a course of action that would be welcomed by any other hero.
Hi there! I think you may have been going off an earlier version of the game when you made this. It looks good, the only thing that stands out is the limitations, which was updated in a later draft (check out the latest draft section to grab a copy). The new question for limitations on a character is how well they relate and fit in, get along with other, normal people.
Ok, I will look at that. Thanks again for the answer. And if you don’t mind me asking one more question : how would you handle a character that was create to be a super hero (robot, clone, etc…) in term of Origin Book ?
The Origin Book is less about how they got their powers and were created, and more about the reason they became a superhero. So if they started superheroing because they have someone that is controlling them (whether or not that agency created them too), you’d go with that book. If it was something passed down to them, then go with The Legacy one, etc.
