Hey everyone! We’ve had a slow but steady build of members here, which is awesome! I’d like to know more about y’all. So let’s start with a question for YOU (yes, you reading this RIGHT NOW):
What’s your favorite thing about wrestling?

The heels. I love watching them make the crowd hate them.
That by working together, wrestlers can make superhuman feats of athleticism seem possible while still not making them routine.
The Crowds. There is nothing better than watching the audience start up a chant of “This is Awesome! clap clap clapclapclap” when the guys in the ring start to get to work. Also, you know that all the smarks are allowed to mark out in the bigger crowds, and no one will ever know. Like I did when Punk dropped his pipebomb in ’11. Man, that Vegas crowd was going wild when he plopped his butt down on the ramp. I’m telling you, when you watch the video on youtube, they turned us down, we were that loud, especially when they cut the mic.
The story surrounding the matches, that when done well, makes it feel like the outcome of the fight actually matters.
The organic nature of the storytelling. That unlike a book or a play or a movie something that isn’t working can shift and next week be something totally different and even better.
The supreme athletic control that let’s them perform incredible feats without actually (most of the time) killing or crippling each other…which would be the standard result if they weren’t so good at it.
I love the backstage soap opera bits that over time form a cohesive storyline that underscores most of the major matches.
slow burning storylines… moments that took 1 or 2 years to create.
The moment in which the move is so insane that you can’t but scream “what the fuck!”
Killer promos which are obviously unscripted. It’s dramatic improv.
Complaining about it online.
The stories performers tell and catharic feeling those stories bring. It’s modern Greek tragedy. BTW – watch South Park s13e10 called W.T.F. – the best depiction of the Game ever.
I like trying to predict the story lines. I especially like the well-told stories going hand in hand with well sold moves in the ring.
These are all great things about wrestling!
But what’s the right answer??!?
The right answer has been inside you all along, little Eppy.
My second favorite thing is predicting what’s going to happen during a match.
It’s nice that being right AND being wrong can both bring such satisfaction.
