Congrats on your certification! I’d be glad to see some action on these fronts (especially knowing how good you write your feedback afterwards!):
– a sorcerer or a priest, but ran by a Player, not by the GM 😉
– conditions, conditions, conditions
– Taint Tracker: increase it every time someone gets -1 spirit and not only for the Tainted condition; should speed up the demons evocations
– and, as suggested to me today (Andrea is watching us!): if you feel comfortable with it, give the Mission a start in “media res” (DW style). Put the characters in the middle of some action (appropriate to their playbook), give them a chance to shine immediately, and perhaps play a bit with flashbacks and with their suggestions to determine how the hell did they get there
Of course, all or any of the above, as you see fit, and if you feel comfortable with that!
p.s. And if you’re going for a one-shot(or just a couple of sessions) you might give an Advance for free to the Players (they can take another Move). As a compensation, mark X sections on your Taint Tracker from the start (X=num. of players)
Thanks. I will try in media res and see how that works out. We may have a new player and he likes wizards, so he might play the sorcerer. I’ll go ahead and give the players a couple of advancements for some taint points and see how that works out. Another thing you might want to consider for taint points — if PCs act egregiously, like out right murder, theft etc, you could just add taint points to the pool for that.
That’s interesting – actually, there is already
-1 Spirit = +1 taint tracker
so the key would be: what gives a character -1 Spirit?
There are mechanical triggers in the Moves, and one chosen as a profile (i.e. the Barber takes -1 Spirit if he ignores someone in need of healing OR fails with 6 or minus on a roll with Brains…)
I wonder if:
– have both (the behavioral trigger AND the roll with 6-) for more -1 spirit (and more taint tracker)
– build some “alignment” stuff (like an oath, a faith, a strong belief…) which gives -1 spirit when contradicted…
