The American Classic tournament is underway! Who will rise to the top and be this year’s poster child for Husman’s Potato Chips?
The show opened with Dr. Oppenheimer (Kyle Maus ) continuing his path of destruction by laying the hurt on Ivan Poloff in a submission match. He made it very clear he was here to show everyone why he is the best technical wrestler in the game today.
Veteran Larry Gin (Dylan Burley ) , two-time winner of the American Classic, returned to action for one more run at glory. He and Donny Ray Boggs (Thomas Greaves ) had a great first round match. Boggs proved to Larry that he indeed COULD wrestle and could make others look great while doing so. Larry showed he still has it by pulling off his Ginsault to take the win and advance to the next round.
Prior to the next match, High Flyer Johnny Social (Austin Hunt ) rubbed management the wrong way when he held a bag of Husman’s Extreme BBQ chips upside down while cutting his pre-match promo.
The Prep (Ryan Dempsey ) on the other hand cut a scathing promo stating he’s here to get some of that Husman money.
The other first round bout featured two newcomers to HEW but instant Rivals: Johnny Social and The Prep, Max Matera. The match was short as Max got carried away showing off his athleticism and wouldn’t let Johnny get any of his shit in. After a number of botched sequences and stiff shots that saw the audience turn on Johnny Social, Larry Gin returned to the ring with a steel chair to rescue his protege. The Prep was declared the victor via DQ.
Executive Henry J Husman, determined to send the crowd home happy, declared for a tag match to take place between Johnny Social and Larry Gin against The Prep and Dr. Oppenheimer, who had been berating Johnny Social from ringside during the match.
The final match saw The Prep and the Doctor spend all their momentum keeping control of the match and really worked over Larry in their corner. When Larry was finally able to make the hot tag, the Doctor interrupted the finishing sequence, refusing Johnny and Larry a moment to shine. The veteran had had enough. No selling through all of the Doctor’s interruptions, he gave The Prep a roll up with ref quick counting a 1-2-3. Much to the crowds delight.
First time for any of us using hangout. Went quite well.
That main event sounds like a hot angle, brother.
It sure is. I’m pretty sure everyone gained an audience expect poor Johnny Social. Poor guy couldn’t figure out how to roll anything but a botch.
