So, who is going to make this happen? Fred Hicks ? Michael Sands ? Evil Hat Productions ?
Throws money at the screen, but nothing happens
Well, I have one mystery out and it’s not selling very many copies, so I’m not really looking at more of them right now.
The format you suggest would be good, I will think on it.
Well, the issue is, more than with most other games even, I really style my mysteries to match the Hunters. While I get inspiration from other people’s mysteries, I have very rarely had the sense that I could port something over to my groups easily (=with less effort than just making something up). That said, I’d be happy to contribute a Mystery to such a collection.
Have you seen the previous set of Mysteries for MotW Felix Girke? I think those are great examples of how you can provide enough information for a game, but not need to make assumptions about the characters.
Not sure, actually – might have. Link? Title?
Hmmm.
I’ll second that request for the link to the old set of Mysteries. If nothing else, it’d be nice to look at them for examples of how to set up a Mystery.
Michael Sands Maybe a stupid question here, but where is the Mystery you already have out? Also, is it for the original version or the revised one? Or does it not matter?
Colin Spears it’s at http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product/141243/The-Meddling-Kids-In-Too-Many-Draculas
Mysteries work the same in both classic and revised Monster of the Week.
Ah right, I saw that. I’ll have to pick it up.
+Christopher Stone-Bush, is that what you were referring to? Because I know the Draculas, and I think this is a clear instance of something that is a fun one-shot for whoever grew up with the source material, but not particularly portable to running campaigns.
