In an upcoming HEW episode I’d like to have all the players reveal a bit of background about their characters. I’d like to somehow incorporate into a Top of the Card move with only fictional results.
I need some help for the partials and botches:
10+ Choose:
You have some interesting friends: Introduce an NPW to play as a Guest Star in a future episode;
You know what’s best for business: make Creative book you in a match with stipulations;
Everyone knows: you may roll +Real when you cut a promo for this episode.
You’ve gained a following: Gain an Enforcer, Valet or Manager
7-9 Choose:
Let’s see where this goes: add stipulations to a match you’re not in
Remember that time: Someone grants you a favor, with a catch.
On a botch, they use it against you, Choose:
Not cool bro: You’ve made a new enemy;
Not exactly: Rumors spread about your past
You’ve been hacked : something has leaked to the public putting you in a bad position with the locker room or management
Possible botch:
You’ve been hacked : an inappropriate picture has been leaked to the public putting you in a bad position with the locker room or management.
Good one. Could also be a video or editorial you wrote in the past
I like the idea, but I kind of want to keep the outcomes away from having a mechanical bonuses and instead focus them on the fiction of the promotion; the +Real promo being as close I’d like to get. Your example could be a specific instance of how the +Real promo could work. Which make think maybe it should be +Real to Work the Audience instead?
How long do you want the effects to last? Just that one show?
For 7-9, maybe make the first one “establish a stipulation for whatever match you’re already in”? Because it seems odd to mess with other people’s matches for a successful roll you made.
As far as more 7-9 options (which it doesn’t necessarily need, but kinda seems empty compared to 10+), I’ve got some ideas, tell me if they’re in the right direction:
– Make an Appearance: You visit a children’s hospital/charity event/etc instead of wrestle tonight. Pick 1 from 10+, which takes effect next show.
– On The News: Your name gets picked up in some harmless news stories, giving you some name recognition in the area along with some storyline fodder.
– This S@*~! Writes Itself: You’ve managed to give someone an idea for a feud you should be in right now, striking while the iron is hot. All other feuds are put on the backburner, but this one should really get the fans involved with your character/person.
Also, similar to On The News, only the botch version:
Hey, You’re On The News: You did something really stupid last night, and TMZ/Local News/etc has video of it in full detail, which no one will forget any time soon.
