I put together a general-use accessory for PbtA gaming, specifically to make it dead simple to set up and resolve stakes on the fly for dangerous actions.  It works like this:

….

WHEN YOU DO THINGS, roll 2d6+Bonus.  The GM will tell you which bonus applies, and will lay down a number of danger cards (usually two to four).

On a 6 or less, flip one card.

On a 7-9, flip two cards.

On a 10+, flip three cards.

Flipped cards are ignored; the others take effect.

Grab it free at the link below, or pay whatever you like.

  1. Andy Hauge – I’ve spent a lot of time messing around with related bits, trying to solve for “How can I get complex/tough choice improvised stakes that don’t bog out as everyone at the table holds the bits in their head”?

This is the most elegant solution I’ve tripped over in that search.

  2. I love how it’s so effortless in execution, too. It’s a table and a prop, all in one.

This would make a killer companion to World of Dungeons.

  3. These cards look great. I did see two typos you might want to fix. On Injury: “a marker may be put here” and on Ensorcelment “as the Guide describes.”
