So. I’ll say it, I ended up being disappointed by Battleground last night.

So. I’ll say it, I ended up being disappointed by Battleground last night.

There were some great matches, like the Tag Match, and the Women’s match.  And then there were matches I just couldn’t get into like Reigns and Wyatt.  (which had a great ending); as well as Orton/Seamus.

Then there were matches I was super into, and was let down by weak finishes(Owens/Cena; Lesnar Rollins)

So what are most people’s thoughts. Aside from you Nathan Paoletta we all know what an “apologist” you are 😛

  1. I would have thought people would be more positive about the Undertaker actually making an appearance.

But I’m not a Lesnar fan. I was happy to see the Dead Man beat up on him for a bit.

  2. I just hope he’s a crusty old man heel Taker. I mean, I love Undertaker more than pretty much any other current (“current”) wrestler, but I kinda wish the streak ending was just The End for him. And he’s gonna get a pop no matter how he comes back. But all of that stuff was straight-up heel bullshit and that’s ok with me.

The booking logic is weaksauce as hell, but you know, WWE doesn’t prioritize consistency in storytelling so it gets the whole “welp, that’s just how it is here” shrug from me.

  3. My suspicion has become: John Cena has been ploughing his way through the roster by means of the Open Challenge, as a training montage to stop the unstoppable. To conquer the beast. As such Lesnar wins at Summerslam, Cena becomes WWE Champion through shenanigans, and then uses his Champions Advantage and the all the rubs he’s stolen off people since Wrestlemania to take part and overcome the odds of the beast himself.

  4. Yea….this Cena stuff gets me bummed year after year though.

He’s a great dude, and a hard worker, and the US Open matches have been great.

But first he crushed Bray Wyatt, Now I struggle to care about him, losing to Undertaker didn’t help.

Then he crushed Rusev, so now we have an angle that is more about Summer Rae and Lana, and Rusev still wanting Lana?

Now he crushed Owens, and unlike the previous two feud, I was super into this feud.  But the finish to their match?  and they way they handled Owens on RAW, I have little reason to continue caring about Owens.

    Who’s getting buried next year?

My money is on Samoa Joe.

  5. I’d agree with Samoa Joe. Rollins is basically next but there’s no way he’s getting buried out of it. shield guys are protected…. the next face getting buried because of Cena will be Cesaro after Cena steals all the rub, and gets Kane to push him off the stage in a wheelchair.

Cena vs Taker WM32 retirement match anyone??
