Just read ‘The Long Example’ – wow, really amazing. Would it be ok to share that with friends who haven’t bought the book yet, and are on the fence about playing the game? I think it’d get them totally into the idea.

Mark Diaz Truman ?
Long example really is awesome.
I think it’s cool to share stuff with your gaming group! Of course, I think things make more sense in context…
Awesome – I think the Long Example just does a great job of showing how the mechanics help drive the story in interesting ways, even if they don’t know what exactly those mechanics do. I think it’ll get them sufficiently interested to get them to look at the Playbooks next time we play, and hopefully get them into the idea of playing a game.
Great! Let us know how it turns out. 😀
Well, turns out it worked – the players are really excited, which is awesome, it’s hard to get these guys to try new systems sometimes. We’re going to start the first game tomorrow night!
That’s awesome to hear! Good luck!
So cool! Let us know how it goes and if you have any questions. 🙂
So some of my players are so into this, they’ve told me they have either already bought the PDF or they are buying it tonight. The question they have is: which sections should they read to get a leg up on what will happen tomorrow?
Any suggestions on this? I’ve suggested the Archetypes obviously, and they’ve already read the Long Example.
If they are crunched for time have them read The Intro, The Basics, and The Moves. That’s more than enough for the first session!
Thanks Mark Diaz Truman – I figured at least the Preface and the moves would be good. They’ve played *W games before, so I think The Basics will come a bit more naturally to them – but I’ll definitely include it. 🙂
