Wow. You’re going to run 9 one-shot games over 5 days?! Very ambitious and a really cool idea. I haven’t heard of a bunch of these games either – I’ll have to check them out!
Some of them I’ve run before…but yeah.
And yeah, I don’t expect too much problem, I’ve got a few breaks for myself planned in here and there.
That’s great, I’m sure it’ll be a ton of fun.
I’m thinking the worlds in peril scenario will be my heritage setting.
Summary points:
Earth is a dimensional nexus with a massive number of naturally appearing gates that have been closed for hundreds of thousands of years.
Humanity is a sort of genetic blend of the descendants of various dimensional aliens that fought over possession of earth in the forgotten past. That war somehow resulted in the gates closing and sealing off earth.
The reason different dimensions fought over earth was that the sheer number of gates on the planet resulted in people who were born on earth having minute gates within themselves granting the ability to funnel extra dimensional energies into amazing powers.
All earth’s myths and legends are due to the lingering survivors of those earlier times of power.
Consequences everybody on earth is potentially a superhuman and the numbers are growing. Most supers appear similar to mythical creatures. The original pregens included a shape shifting drider type, a dragon woman (who joined the marines), a kitsune (who became a film star), a vampire, an elf, a doppelgänger and several others. I think I might make this post the end scenario of the convention game I ran in the same setting.
This sounds really great – drawing from a broad range of mythologies from around the world is always cool. Sounds like a really fun premise to play with!
Interestingly. There’s potential for a lot of origins still. The last adventure of the M&M convention path involved extra dimensional banshee like people who had artificially induced gates. One of the players running the non powered scientist also managed to force open an NPCs gate with uncertain consequences.
How. This means the return of Corporal Kawaii.
Only by now she’s Corporal Kawaii-Chan. (Meant to be a throw away NPC marine from the first adventure her bitter/sour personality and hate for her surname combined with really lucky rolls to make her a favorite NPC on the table)
Awesome! Yeah, one thing I’d like to do more of is Origin and Drive books as well, alternative or otherwise.
