So digging the “risky” playbooks. Love the Nova, adore the Doomed. I think that it would be a little bit more thematic if the “Cure your Doom” Advancement were “Get a fiction chance to face and overcome your Doom”, that way it takes more than just marking 30 potential.

I read that as requiring you to have done something to justify it already, THEN you can take the advancement to make it stick.
No. When you take that advancement it means that you did it.
However when you Get chance to face and overcome your Doom and do it in the fiction then your doom is gone like that.
Tim Franzke’s got it—if you ever take that improvement, it happens, and you’ll work with the GM to explain how. And if it happens in the fiction that you overcome your doom, then it would work the same way—but that’s not going to be easy!
