Just going through the Beta playbooks and playing to run a quick game.
How are people keeping track of Influence? It feels like it should be somewhere on the Playbooks, since you’ll have varying Influence over the other players and it can change a fair amount through play.
I can only see the bit for starting Influence and for tracking NPCs losing their Influence.
We used colored chips in our playtest. Anyone with a purple chip had Influence over PanOptic, my guy.
For me it’s a double list on each sheet, with people you influence and people who influence you
The fact that it’s a binary thing was helpful for making it pretty easy to do. I just doodled a little t in the corner of my page and wrote down people I had influence over and people who had influence over me.
My figuring is that unlike something like Monsterhearts or Urban Shadows (both of which are great games I like, this isn’t a shots fired!) whether you have influence or not is binary so it’s pretty easy to keep track of and if you somehow miss it, ideally the other person involved will have the info too!
For adults you really only need a list of who doesn’t have influence over you (anymore) as they always have it normally.
The Hero Deck is going to be great for this—it will have sets of cards with the Influence rules written on them, each set individually color-coded so you can tell over whom you hold Influence among your fellow PCs. Otherwise, I recommend just making a little note of everyone over whom you hold Influence, and as Tim Franzke says, the adults who don’t hold Influence over you. In the final layout of the playbooks, we’ll look into providing you a place to record Influence!
