I wrote my thoughts on Masks on my blog and I had every intention of just talking about super teen shenanigans, but as I wrote it I realized that Masks really hits a chord with teenagers coming into their own and discovering who they are. I’m hoping to introduce this game to the Gaming Club at the school district I work at because of how relatable this will be to the teens/preteens that attend.

  1. See… I have two teenage daughters (and two tween daughters) that I game with… I was thinking that the games’ system would be kind of META for a teenager. Like, as an adult, I can look at the game and nod and think, yep, that’s how the kids on Young Justice did things. Or you watch a show and the teenaged character does something and adults watch the show and think, “Yep. Because they’re teenagers.” But would a kid be able to get into this without thinking it’s too META (at best) or a criticism of their complex emotions (at worst)…

    What do you guys think?

Would “I think you should run it with them and get their thoughts?” be an acceptable answer? Because I could really see it going many different ways based on the person.
