Hmmm. Can you tell me the podcast series name or number? I don’t use iTunes…
Also, any other podcasts or actual plays that you think really capture the play you were looking for?
You know that even if you don’t use iTunes you can click the link and still get the podcast name right? 🙂
Its called Friends at the Table.
And its the newest episode: Counter Weight 10.
Here’s a link to the episode on the Friends at the Table website: http://www.friendsatthetable.net/e/counterweight-10/
I listened to the previous 9 episodes for context before I listened to this one, but I don’t think it’s strictly necessary. They do a good job of setting up the team independent of the previous gameplay.
To the best of my knowledge, this is the first publicly available AP of The Sprawl, Christopher Meid, so I don’t have any other recommendations.
If anyone knows of any others (or would like to produce one), please be in touch!
Also…Seriously Hamish Cameron, how long have you been in development on The Sprawl? He mentions in the podcast he wanted to run The Sprawl years before he ever started the podcast, and the podcast was started over a year ago. 🙂 You have been working at this for quite a while haven’t you?
Riley Crowder Yes, I am aware of that, however on my mobile device it wasn’t clear which episode Hamish was referring to, and when the screen came up, it showed all the episodes.
Riley Crowder I’ve talked about The Sprawl‘s development on a couple of podcasts previously, most recently Talking Tabletop episode 8 (http://talkingtabletop.net/talking-tabletop/006-talking-with-hamish/)... And maybe in the KS video?
I started thinking about it after the first Big Bad Con in 2011 or so, but I didn’t really start really working on the externally playable version until 2013 when I realized there was a lot of demand for a PbtA cyberpunk game.
Heh. Maybe he heard about it when you started working on it in 2013, from someone. 😉 Or it was just a weird misspeak, or hes a time traveler.
I think he said he’s been following development for a few years, which is entirely possible. I’ve been running it at conventions since at least early 2012.
I’ve been talking with a couple of friends about some sort of heavily annotated version which would get into design decisions and history and the like. We’ll see what comes of that.
Thats probabaly it. He probabaly ran into it at a con. 😉
I am excited though..but I am super excited about the Magic Expansion, since I am a huge Shadowrun player.
Hamish Cameron The Friends at the Table podcast has been quite good once they switched over the Sprawl. The Tech Noir version didn’t do it for me. I love their hacker (Mako?) fooling the ICE by pretending to be a duplicate of the ICE construct…
That was such a cool move, and the player played it so well!
Yes, that and the move with the forged document retcon really helped to show the fiction as primary.
Austin does a great job as MC.
