My god, even this early in Edge’s career, the man could work the crowd. Particularly with the female contingent, listen to those screams. It’s no wonder he was the breakout star of the group.
Also, Gangrel/Vampire Warrior was most effective when he didn’t say anything. Great expressions, great overall visual package, excellent entrance even by WWF/E standards, but I cannot remember a single promo of his that was better than pedestrian, if I’m being generous.
True that! Not everyone can be Dusty Rhodes. I wish they’d find a happy medium where those who can work the mic are allowed to roam free and guys like Gangrel get tight, quick, scripted promos that get in, make the point and get out again.
What’s ironic is that it sounds to me like he’s desperately trying to remember prewritten lines, and didn’t have any natural talking ability to fall back on when he bobbles them.
I LOVE the moment where Christian just nosells the mic. His eyes say “I’m not getting involved with this bullshit”
