I have a questions regarding this game and the Fit In move. The Breakdown provided in the book shows a character’s attempt at Fit In interrupted by a fight. How would that play out? As an actual fight with the normal rules, or would it simply be a narrative/roleplay scene?

  1. It’s up to you, it doesn’t necessarily have to be a fight even, just anything that could threaten their mundane life/private identity, etc. If they’re beat up, what meshes well with how they’re fitting in. Sometimes I just foreshadow something, sometimes I just have a quick fight. Most of the time I don’t spend too much time on it though, unless the other players can be brought in – otherwise they’re just kind of waiting around for their turn.

  2. That doesn’t really answer my question. If it becomes a fight, is it handled with the same moves that fights use in this system? What if the PC gains Conditions from that fight?

  3. As I already said – it’s up to you how you handle the fight, right? If you choose for it to be a full blown fight that uses the moves and you play it out step-by-step then PCs should take Conditions, as per your EIC principles. I was saying I rarely choose for it to be an actual full blown fight unless all or most of the PCs are involved.
