I can think of a good example of Let It Out for all the Archetypes, except The Aware. Any examples people can provide?

  1. Remember that scene in “V for Vendetta” where the detective is searching the ruins of where V was incarcerated before the fire? The leaps of logic that he makes there due to being intoxicated is my example.

Another is the Downey Jr Sherlock Holmes movies where he does analyzes the situation and we see the calculations on the screen.

These are crazy leaps of logic that can burn the person making them. Both Denholm and Holmes are corrupted and brilliant. They are willing to “gaze into the abyss looking for answers” and the Aware is too.

  2. This move gets used most in my group for “extend senses,” and then the results of that tend to be used to explain follow-up choices like the +1 forward. In such a case, I’d say the Aware probably has the best innate sense of “this is not natural,” being the most mundane person in the room. I could see spinning that a few different ways, like seeing through a glamour or the like.

  3. This one is apt to vary a lot between games and players, I suspect. Why is the character Aware?

Are they Hindu? Perhaps “Letting it Out” involves opening your third eye, which could extend senses, or frighten/intimidate/impress.

Maybe their awareness is tied to…chemical assistance? Lots of weird possibilities there.

  4. Currently playing a former cop that was driven from the force for reporting seeing a “Vampire”. Now working as a P.I., cliche I know, but it was our first game. I like the Sherlock Holmes angle.

  5. With the aware being the most essentially human of all the playbooks, I like the idea of them taping into genetic memory, drawing on the instincts and abilities of primeval humanity, uncorrupted by (and perhaps anathema to) Power, Night, and Wild.
