I’ll be MCing a PbP game soonish, and one of the players has requested to play The Rusalka. It’s the first time I’ve seen the Skin, and had a question. Maybe Brie Sheldon can help me out here.

The second part of the Sex Move says: “When the other person has sex with someone else, they lose a String on you.” How long does that last? Is it meant to be a one time effect that can only be triggered after the Rusalka and another character have sex? Or is it something that can happen any number of times after a character has sex with the Rusalka?

I interpret it as the latter, so that once a character has sex with the Rusalka, they are mechanically encouraged to stay faithful. Just checking though.

  1. The fact the clauses are not separate paragraphs could mean it’s a one time effect Benjamin Davis: the first time someone has sex with another person after they’ve slept with the Rusalka, they lose a String on the Rusalka. Having it be a constant effect could also be a pain to track.

  2. I would go with once per sex move just because it’s more interesting. It incentivizes the Rusalka to take action once it’s resolved, getting them further tangled in the broken relationship.
